Stupid Patent Anyway.....

A couple of weeks ago I bought two egg poacher thingys in Boscastle down South. It was advertised as being able to hook on the side of the pan and contain the egg until cooked and then with the aid of the hooky handle, you could lift the things easily from the pan, fat chance. First the pan is not big enough to contain two of these things across the pan width, I altered the handles angle until that worked right, I then had to decipher the instructions and apply logic until we could start cooking. The hooky bits on the handle failed to hook onto the pan edge, I bent the top hooks outward and then flattened the lower hooks so they did not push the thingys off the side of the pan.
All this for a brace of poached eggs on toast, when I think that this weekend I have enjoyed two Roast Beef dinners at different locations and now this hassle, toast is good though, top hole as they say in the Ritz....

Why are we such suckers for new things? I sent away for a seat extender because our new car has the belt clips close to the floor. @ $19.00 apice I wanted to get my wife and I one to make it easy. By the time I was done with the shipping and all with the taxes it's costing me $52.00 just for that and it doesn't even make eggs.Posted 28-10-2008 at 16:59 by proudman
